"It takes a lot. It takes a village; it takes a community, to really make make things like this happen."Yesterday, our community came to celebrate and tour ‘Imi Ola Piha, Homeless Triage Center, which will open for guests next month. The center will be a stabilization center for chronically homeless adults who have decided to begin substance abuse detox and/or mental health treatment."This is truly a public-private partnership, in every sense of the word... Stanley had been homeless for over 30 years. Motivated to make a change, he sought help for his substance use and after treatment found his way to HONU where he was connected with our employment program #Hele2Work. Shortly after, he secured a job! From there, he was connected with a case manager and moved into Hale Mauliola, where he worked with staff to apply for vouchers and permanent housing.
