The IHS Group Facilitator and Training Support Specialist (GFTSS) is dedicated to facilitating weekly psycho-educational and “life skills” groups to guests of IHS to ensure increased competencies required for guests to become independent and stably housed. This position will support clinical and guest services staff in IHS emergency and specialty shelters by providing direct and indirect support in the planning, scheduling and organization of monthly/annual trainings for clinical and guest services staff to ensure contract and CARF compliance as well as sustained staff competencies.
Position is Casual Part-Time (15 hours per week). Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology or related field with a minimum 12 semester credit hours in courses such as psychology, counseling, criminal justice, human services, social work, social welfare, sociology or other behavioral sciences. 1 ½ years of specialized experience in group facilitation within human services setting. Working knowledge of community resources, instructional design and effective clinical group facilitation best practices. Effective problem solving and organizational skills and computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint Excel and Access and/or database applications. Ability to effectively interact with professionals, partnering agencies and clients with severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance abuse problems. CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) trained, CPR and First Aid Certification (or able to complete at IHS).
