Hale Mauliola: Now Open

On November 18, 2015, Hale Mauliola opened it’s doors to its first set of residents seeking respite and bridge-housing. This opportunity could not have happened without the support of community and government partners that provided resources to make this a success.

I have been living at various places here in Hawaii because I need to apply for disability and other resources when I came across an article about your facility here in Hawaii. Is your facility still open? To men and women? The article I saw was an old one dated from back in 2015.

I would really love to have a chance to utilize your facility and its resources in order to get my life back up and running. I am a 52 year old Black -American female who recently was release from the hospital after having Pneumonia and surviving from Covid. Although I am unable to do any kind of long term stand up work, I can provide excellent references.

I have no criminal history, but I do posses many skills I would be happy to utilize on a volunteer basis to help other people who could use my assistance. Some of these are: Resume Writing, Tutoring in basis moth, English, Customer Service (in person and on the phone), and how to interview for a job.

At the moment my skills, which I feel could really help other people, are going to waste and that together we can really help each other to improve lives for all people who are trying to make their lives and the world at large a much better place.

Aloha Kate, thank you for the interest in Hale Mauliola. Yes, this facility is still open and has continued to provide shelter for homeless individuals and couples since 2015. It sounds like your skills could benefit our Hele2Work program. If you’re interested in volunteering, please complete the form here.
