Prescribing Hope Campaign Launch Event - September 22, 2018

In 2017, IHS launched its first Street Medicine team that included homeless outreach and medical professionals assisting 20 chronic homeless individuals who opted into psychiatric treatment with new medications. The pilot was documented by Hawaii News Now over the course of six months, highlighting the extreme challenges, successes and failures of three chronic, mentally ill and addicted homeless individuals. The documentary film, Prescribing Hope, has since won a regional Emmy and the regional and national Edward K. Murrow awards. The 2018 Prescribing Hope Campaign Launch Event is being hosted by the Hilton Hawaiian Village and Hawaii News Now to celebrate The Institute for Human Services (IHS) 40th Anniversary. The event will feature entertainment by local artists including Henry Kapono. Guests will be provided with valet parking, a beautiful dinner, beverages and a live fireworks show. An event photo display area will allow you to take personalized photos, and guests will also receive a swag handbag.

10th Annual Homeward Bound 5K Race - November 22, 2018

Homeward Bound is a 5k race started by Punahou Cross Country team members in 2008. Since then, teammates have continued to train and pass down the legacy of running for a cause and serving our community's most vulnerable people. Since 2008, more than 35 business sponsors and 5,000+ runners have raised over $150,000 to support The Institute for Human Services (IHS) through Homeward Bound. Now in its 10th Year, the 5th generation of Punahou students and members of the Cross Country Team invites runners and sponsors to join us in celebrating IHS' 40th Anniversary.
