Street Medicine

Prescribing Hope to Hawaii's Most Vulnerable Homeless

In January 2017, IHS launched a street medicine homeless outreach team to help a group of chronic homeless individuals suffering from mental illnesses with gaining access to new treatment medication and housing, ending their homelessness 20-30 years later.

The team has faced numerous system barriers and challenges, yet they have not given up on the 40 individuals they continue to engage. They are dependable, hard working and deserve our support and gratitude to persevere. We ask for your support to continue to help people like Donna find happiness after 19 years of being chronically homeless in Honolulu with mental illness.

Special Mahalo to the crew of Hawaii News Now for 6 months of capturing miracles and transformation being made.
