Housing Program

We help navigate housing options

At IHS, The Institute for Human Services, we know that one size does not fit all and identify housing options that best serves an individual’s need. We offer rent assistance, security and utility deposit money, past-due rent and social services. We conduct housing inspections, help furnish apartments, provide household goods, offer budgeting assistance and work with landlords and property management companies. Subsidy Programs include: Homeless Prevention, Rapid Re-Housing, Clean & Sober Transitions and more.

Homeless Prevention

Short-term financial assistance helps at-risk individuals from losing housing and provides rapid rehousing for those who have just become homeless.

Rapid Rehousing

Rapid rehousing is designed to support those who have just become homeless or are about to lose their homes. It provides financial assistance to bridge the gap between rent or deposit owed and a person’s ability to pay. Rapid rehousing programs ensure that an individual or family homeless situation is as brief as possible, or is averted altogether.

Permanent Housing Placement by The institute for human services

Permanent Supportive Housing

Permanent supportive housing programs provide rental subsidies coupled with long-term case management to chronically homeless individuals and families with significant barriers to self-sufficiency. Examples of permanent supportive housing placements include: Kahauiki Village for families, Kupuna Bridge housing for seniors, Adult Foster homes, and the Housing First program.
