Homeless Outreach

We are in need of volunteers to support our team with data entry and legal support to give unsheltered homeless access to needed treatment.

Data Entry Volunteers:

Shifts: Schedule is flexible to help meet your availability as well as our team’s schedule. Typically, available hours are Monday thru Friday between 8:00 a.m. & 5:00 p.m. at 350 Sumner street, our Men’s service center location.

Essential Duties: Entering data into SAMi System and HMIS databases, or other tasks as requested. While experience with our SAMi and HMIS databases is preferred, we are able to coach you through how to use them if needed. Working stations will be alongside a supervisor to help answer any questions. There may also be some use of excel and/or word documents.

Expectations: You must have competent and accurate computer skills; able to respect policies on handling highly confidential data; be dependable and arrive when scheduled; have a pleasant attitude and work well with all types of individuals; able to follow directions.

Legal Services:

Shifts: Schedule varies and is flexible to help meet your availability, our team’s schedule and court deliverable deadlines.

Essential Duties: Licensed attorney in the State of Hawaii. Attorneys will be asked to assist IHS with community outpatient treatment orders for mentally ill unsheltered homeless, and petitioning the courts to appoint guardianship's for our clients.

Expectations: Respect policies on handling highly confidential data; have a pleasant attitude; work well with all types of individuals including IHS and the homeless.
