Welcome to a new kind of healing community for people who have experienced trauma associated with homelessness. Kumu Ola Hou is a recovery-oriented transitional shelter “where life is your teacher” and you can rebuild your life in a safe and environment. Here we combine architectural design, neuroscience and cultural wisdom to space for personal freedom that supports personalized learning and with growing independence on the journey to stable housing.

Kumu Ola Hou is located in Iwilei off of Iwilei Road.

Eligibility Requirements
  • Ready to work toward your goals
  • Ability to contribute to program fees within the first month of stay
  • Willing to share mana’o to build sense of community
  • No substance use on site
  • Completion of basic health screening
  • Agreement to house rules and community guidelines
  • Willingness to participate in community activities
